Keeping an eye on your Optics
Optics is an essential tool when hunting. But before you purchase the optics that you think seems right for you, there are two questions that you must answer first.
1. What are the things that you need in an optic?
2. How much is your budget?
Here are some of the things to consider when buying for high-quality optics.
a. The Field of View – some hunting optics has a regular FOV or field of view which only allows you to view only a small range or distance. If you want to hunt a lot or you want to see more area, then go for optics with wide FOV.
b. The Diameter of the Lens – the amount of illumination that would help you see clearly
c. The Eye Relief
d. Exit Pupil
Hunter Boot Maintenance is a MUST!
Maintaining your boots even before the start of hunting season is important. Not only that it would last for a longer time but it would also give the performance that you need for hunting as well.
Make sure that you use products that would help you water-proof your hunting boots. But before doing so, see to it that the boots is well-cleaned and very dry. If the dirt has already built up, use a wet brush and scrub it off. Air dry your boots then you can precede to the use of water repellent or waterproofing boot products.
Some of the most waterproofing products that is commonly used by hunters include petroleum jelly, pine tar, mineral oil, silicone oil, lanolin, goose grease, bear grease, and so much more. However, these products must not be used since it can cause the leather to spoil and can even result to sweaty feet as well.
